Word from the Web - Employee Discounts

The wonderful thing about the WWW is the wealth of great information and ideas available on it for FREE! Here at Penny Saving, we love that word so let me say it again… FREE!

I spend a lot of time online everyday and often come across great money saving ideas or tips and I am going to make a point of sharing them with you in the Word from the Web.

So first up is a post from Free Money Finance who reminds us not to miss out on big potential savings that may be available through friends and family work discounts.

Reading on down the thread is entertaining because you have comments both from those who have scored huge discounts (40% on camping gear) and from a loss prevention supervisor whose job it was to stem the flood of employees pimping out their discounts.

Ethically this may therefore be rather grayhat. If you know that the company in question encourages employees to make full use of their employee discount including passing the love through family and friends than go for it. If you are not sure, by taking advantage of a friend’s employee discount you may be partly responsible for him getting the boot.
